EBC helps pupils to;
- Understand how individuals, governments, nations and ideas have fought and co-operated to improve the human condition and rights.
- Make decisions after weighing up all the evidence.
- Contribute in a relevant way to discussions.
- Understand other people’s points of view.
- Aware of other beliefs and ideas that exist.
- Generate an understanding of tolerance. Express themselves clearly.
- Develop key literacy, critical thinking and analysis skills.

Ethics, Belief, and Culture (EBC) is studied by all students at KS3 for part of each year. Students study this subject for half a term within each full term.
