This term saw students who are part of the Access Project, a programme that aims to support high achieving students gain places at top universities, visit Queen Mary University London and the University of Cambridge. 6 students from Year 11 went along to QMUL and took part in workshops on revision techniques and how to get into the best universities. They also attended a lecture on the history of the Berlin Wall.
10 students in Year 10 visited two colleges at the University of Cambridge; St Catharines and Gonville & Caius colleges. They were introduced to the kind of academic vigour that studying at Cambridge requires and took part in tours and workshops. They also attended lectures on Black identity in literature and Material Science. Our students were really inspired by the day and Calvin Trinh even won the inter-school competition for his answers on the Cambridge quiz!
