Woolwich Polytechnic School for Boys is proud to support Movember!

Movember is a cause close to our hearts, addressing critical men’s health issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health challenges, and suicide prevention. Sadly, some members of our wider school community have been directly affected by these issues, making this initiative even more meaningful.

As an all-boys school, we believe it’s vital to raise awareness and encourage open conversations about health and wellbeing. Young men often face unique challenges when it comes to speaking openly about their emotions and health. Through Movember, we aim to foster a culture of openness, understanding, and early intervention - empowering our students to look after themselves and each other. With over 1,500 male students and staff at the Poly, spreading this message is essential.

How we are getting involved:
Moustache Challenge: Staff and Sixth Form students will grow their mo’s throughout November to spark conversations.
Chess Tournament: A two-day lunchtime event hosted by Mr Skeels to bring minds together.
Push-Up Challenge: In memory of those who’ve taken their own lives.
Ribbons & Badges: Available from 10th November in the Library - 100% of proceeds go to Movember.

Join us in backing this meaningful cause and helping to make a difference. Together, we can change the face of men’s health.
