Sports Day 2026 at Woolwich Polytechnic School for Boys was such a brilliant day yesterday! The morning kicked off with students in their form classes making colourful banners and getting stuck into sports quizzes to build the excitement.

After break, everyone headed over to the field - banners held high, lots of cheering, and that proper Poly buzz in the air. Years 7–9 took on a full mix of track and field events including javelin, high jump, shot put, tug of war, sprints and relays. Year 10 brought the energy with basketball and football tournaments taking place all day. It really was non‑stop from start to finish.

Well done to all students who took part and represented their form and year group so brilliantly - the effort, teamwork and enthusiasm were amazing to see.

A special shout‑out to Mr Patterson, who kept the vibes immaculate all day with music that had everyone smiling.

A huge thank you to Mr McCabe and the PE Department for pulling together another fantastic Sports Day. Massive appreciation to our Premises Team, our wonderful First Aiders, the Results Desk Team, and our Finish Line Team - you kept everything running smoothly. And thank you to every member of staff who supervised, encouraged and supported students throughout the day.
