Course Entry Requirement

Grade 5 or above in Art plus grade 5 or above in English (Language)

Course Overview

The course comprises one component of work that is a project demonstrating skills; project development and gives students the opportunity to complete a creative process that reflects their motivations, interests and skills.

Assessment

The coursework is assessed constantly with a combination of verbal and written feedback. All work is formally assessed against the core assessment objectives every month. PLCs have been created to allow students to monitor their own progress and are used regularly during the course.

Support Materials

The course is supported by an introductory booklet and a comprehensive website offering exemplar material and support in annotations as well as skills-building.

Any Specialist Equipment Required?

Students should have their own SD cards and, wherever possible, their own D-SLR cameras.

Key Dates

  • October - first full coursework assessment
  • December - PPE day for completion of project answering all assessment objectives - fully assessed
  • April - work completion and submission for marking

Interventions will be arranged as needed.

Course Overview

The course comprises two components (portfolio and externally set task - EST) of work that is a project demonstrating skills; project development and gives students the opportunity to complete a creative process that reflects their motivations, interests and skills. The first component also requires students to complete a personal study looking at an area of photography that particularly fascinates them.

Assessment

The coursework is assessed constantly with a combination of verbal and written feedback. All work is formally assessed against the core assessment objectives every month. PLCs have been created to allow students to monitor their own progress and are used regularly during the course.

An introductory booklet and a comprehensive website offering exemplar material and support in annotations as well as skills building support.
