The class of 2017 celebrated the best A Level results in the history of the school. Overall, 64% of grades were awarded at A* - B or equivalent, with a striking 45% of students achieving A*-A grades or equivalent. The overwhelming majority of students were thrilled to get into the universities of their choice, including students studying architecture at the University of Cambridge and medicine at King’s College London
One such student, Olegs Korolovs (A*/A*/A/A) secured his place to study Architecture at one of the world’s finest institutions: the University of Cambridge. He said: “I am so pleased! The staff here at the Poly are so dedicated to ensuring the best: the best teaching, the best support, the best results. This, combined with my dedication to study, has meant I can now go to one of the best universities in the world.”
Another future architect, Kevin He, (A*/A/A) also secured a place at the University of Cambridge who, on receiving his results, announced: “I am so excited, I still can’t believe I will packing my bags and heading off to Cambridge.”
Future Computer Scientist and Headboy, Simi Adeshina (A*/A*/A*), paid tribute to the school when he said: “This is a place where your limits will be pushed beyond what you thought possible with the help of incredibly talented teachers as well as a supportive sixth form team to whom your well-being and success is their number one priority. I achieved 100% in 6 of my maths modules, which is beyond what I hoped for. It is sad to end this chapter of my life, but exciting as the next one begins at the University of Warwick.”
A huge congratulations to each and every student that said goodbye to us in the summer of 2017. We are very proud of all your achievements. You will be greatly missed.
