Students in Years 7 -10 will be taking part in exam week from Friday 21 June to Thursday 27 June.
During this time, they will sit exams for all of their subjects. The purpose of this is to experience exam conditions, practise timing, and test knowledge and exam skills.
After the exams, teachers will be able to feedback on students’ strengths and weaknesses and ensure that appropriate interventions are put in place.
It is important that your son prepares well for these exams and it is expected that he revises at home: he will have flashcards for each of his subject to assist with his revision.
Exams will take place either in classrooms or in the sports hall, but all will be conducted under exam conditions.
Exam conditions are:
Silence in the exam room (this includes classrooms as well as the sports hall)
No revision materials
No mobile phones, smartwatches or any electrical devices
No turning round or getting out of seat
No talking to any other student
Every student must wear a lanyard to be identifiable by invigilators
Please discuss these with your son because failure to comply with these conditions for public exams can result in cancellation of the GCSE.
Clear pencil case
Black pens (at least three)
Pencil, ruler, rubber
Exam results will be reported during Academic Review Day on 18 July. If you have any queries regarding the exams, please do not hesitate to contact your son’s head of year.
Please note that if your son is in years 9 or 10, then he will be dismissed from school at approximately 12.30pm on Thursday 27 June, having completed all his exams.
