I am delighted to inform you that, following new government guidance, we are now allowed to invite in students from additional year groups. This means that we will be having tutor group mornings/afternoons for all tutor groups in Years 7 to 9. These sessions will last for 2 hours: the schedule is at the end of the letter.
We are taking the opportunity to invite students in with their whole tutor group: there will be time for them to give feedback on their lockdown experiences and to look at mental health - what it is and where they can seek help; how to access the school’s remote learning; and answer questions on it and then a quiz afterwards.
Please can I ask that your son attends in uniform, except for his blazer, and does not arrive until his allotted time. This is because we will be following guidelines regarding physical distancing. Students will be required to follow the rules regarding handwashing, sanitising and keeping a physical distance from staff and students. Where possible, students should walk, ride or be dropped off in the car. Students will then be escorted out to the back gate at the end of their sessions.
There will not be the opportunity to buy food or drink in school and the normal rules apply regarding food, drink and phones. Students will be escorted if they need to use the toilets. Students and staff will continue to adhere to the school rules to Be Safe, Be Respectful and Be Ready.
Please contact the relevant Head of Year or me if you have any questions, queries or concerns.
I look forward to seeing your son in school very soon.
