From the classroom to the council: Two outstanding Year 9 students join the Greenwich Young People’s Council

Two of our talented Year 9 students have been selected to join the Greenwich Young People’s Council (GYPC)
The new cohort of young representatives were officially welcomed at a special event held at the iconic Old Royal Naval College. The evening also marked a fond farewell to the outgoing GYPC members, who have served since 2023 and played a key role in shaping the borough’s five-year plan for children and young people.
The newly elected group, representing 13 schools across Royal Greenwich, includes 20 young people who will now begin an in-depth training programme before developing a joint manifesto for their term.
Woolwich Polytechnic School for Boys is incredibly proud of its students for stepping up to represent their peers and contribute to meaningful change in the local community.
