Key Information and Events
This year marks a significant milestone in the students’ educational journey, and we couldn't be prouder of their dedication and hard work. Year 11 is brimming with opportunities for our students to showcase their talents and abilities. They are diligently preparing for a series of mock tests and Pre-Public Examinations (PPEs) to ensure they are in prime form for the forthcoming GCSE exams in 2024. These tests are not merely assessments; they are steppingstones towards their future success.
In addition to their academic pursuits, our Year 11 students are embarking on a journey of self-discovery and decision-making. They are exploring a wide array of options for life beyond secondary school, including 6th forms, colleges, apprenticeships, and various other schemes. We hope a significant number of students to continue their education right here at Woolwich Polytechnic 6th Form.
Year 11 students will be provided additional support in Maths, English and Science on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for half an hour after school held by their class teacher. This is a wonderful opportunity for the year group to really get ahead and be prepared for their upcoming exams.
Various year 11 students will be invited to attend Saturday school with their teachers to provide even more support for them in this crucial year. The selected student’s parents will be informed as and when is required. We expect Saturday school sessions to run throughout the year but is subject to various changes.
For Year 11 students to achieve success, they must make sure that they are completing all work both in and outside of lessons. Year 11 students should be expecting to complete at least 2 hours of H/W per subject each week. This does not include their own revision that they should have organised on their revision timetable.
