13 Y12 and Y13 music students visited Resident Recording Studios in Willesden, North west London. This is a commercial studio with the capability to record a 30 piece string section in it's large live room.
The students spent a whole day getting hands on with both modern and more vintage recording equipment that they don't have access to at school (specifically a £50,000 mixing desk and some very expensive microphones).
They also got to set up a session and record some drums, bass and guitar in the studio's excellent live room. It was great for the students to chat to a professional sound engineer and about the University course he studied as a stepping stone to entering the industry.
