This is a big year for us: we have so many mock tests and PPEs to prepare for to ensure we are in top shape for the upcoming GCSE exams in 2021. The year group have been working so hard to maintain and surpass the school’s great reputation and exam successes from previous years.
The year group has also started considering what they would like to do at the end of year 11. They are considering various 6th forms and colleges, apprenticeships and other schemes. A large number of students would like to stay on at Woolwich Polytechnic 6th form and are putting in the work to earn their place here.
Year 11 students will be provided additional support in Maths, English and Science on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for half an hour after school. All period 7 sessions will start from 3:00pm and end at 3.30pm and will be held by their class teachers. This is a wonderful opportunity for the year group to really get ahead and be prepared for their upcoming exams. Additionally, optional subjects, such as Geography, DT etc will be held on a Wednesday and Friday from 3:00pm to 3:30pm.
Various year 11 students will be invited to attend Saturday school with their teachers to provide even more support for them in this crucial year. The selected student’s parents will be informed as and when is required. We expect Saturday school sessions to run throughout the year but is subject to various changes,?some sessions might be online as live lessons due to COVID-19 restrictions.

For Year 11 students to achieve success, they must make sure that they are completing all work both in and outside of lessons. Year 11 students should be expecting to complete at least 2 hours of H/W per subject each week. This does not include their own revision that they should have organised on their revision timetable.
